Slow Week, Again

Wow. Another long delay without updates. I suck, or something.

So, lots of stuff going on. Lab due Thursday, lab due Friday. Project for work due Wednesday.

But first, <A HREF="http://www.promoguy.net/archives/001574.php" target="_blank">Monday Mission 2.44</A>. Why? Because I don't wanna talk about the other stuff. Maybe later.

<I>1. Have you ever had to appear in court? What was the reason? How did it turn out?</I>

Well, I was supposed to. I didn't. My (evil) ex-roommate got us evicted even after I moved out. Landlord changed his mind about letting me off the lease, and I moved out anyway. Ex-roommate's boyfriend moved in, and rent didn't get paid for 4 months. They delivered a summons to the old house (despite the fact the landlord knew my new address). Said they had no way of getting ahold of me. Then, after the court date and 29 days after the settlement was due (one day before a warrant was going out for my arrest, apparently), I got a phone call from the landlord: "Pay me $800 or you're going to jail tomorrow."

That was fun. First I went to the courthouse to confirm, then I had him fax me the itemized bill, then I called my dad. Who else do you call when you're poor and need money fast because you might go to jail?

<I>2. Ever been accused of something you never did? Were you able to convince anyone?</I>

Yes. And no, not really. I want desperately to keep this one short.

<I>3. When it comes to crime and punishment, do you agree with the saying "An eye for an eye?"</I>

Depends on the crime. Violent crimes, definitely. Jerks who abuse their spouses, most definitely. Rapists, murderers, etc, too.

<I>4. Are you a judgemental person? Do you ever make up your mind about a person before you know them? When was the last time that happened? Or if not, how do you keep from being judgemental?</I>

I really try to give EVERYBODY the benefit of the doubt, but it's really hard sometimes. Especially after having ended up with 2 deadbeat roommates in a row before I moved here.

<I>5. Ever get "swats" at school? How do you feel about children being spanked in school. Is it best that they don't do that anymore? How about parents spanking kids? Good or bad?</I>

A detention never deterred anybody from breaking the rules. Spanks, swats, paddlings... it's usually the threat that keeps folks in check. I really don't have a problem with it unless it gets violent. An impartial swatter should deliver the blow(s) probably, to keep the teacher/principal from getting out of control (in our schools it was most often the principal who did the paddling).

<I>6. What is your favorite "Chick Flick?"</I>

Does Princess Bride count? I can't remember a good one...

<I>7. Describe the last situation you were in that can best be summed up by the phrase "seemed like a good idea at the time?"</I>

Erm... my engagement? Yeah... that was my last mega mistake. Or at leat the last that I can think of this early...
