lawn and gardens cost money
Ok, so this is a note to remind myself how much I've spent thus far:
a flat of pansies, a 2.5 foot Japanese maple, two extra-large pots, one small bag of weed-n-feed, MULCH, a few seeds, two bags of gladiola bulbs.
$242. Holy crap. $92 was mulch.

How much was that tree?
I mean, I'm at $120 so far, but that includes yard tools and even overpriced seeds.

It's gotta be the tree. And the pots. You can easily blow all the money on pots.
I usually call for a huge pile of u-haul-it mulch. It's more work, but a lot cheaper (well, if you saw my yard, you'd understand)

The tree was $40, the pots were $30 each, the mulch was $92 (so far). There's $192. Seeds were $12, and the pansies were $12, weed-n-feed was $8. Two bags of bulbs = $18. There's $242.

$12 for seeds? You must have bought more than a few packs! (Mine usually run about 1.10 per pack so that makes... umm... more than a few)
Pots. They do it to me every time. So seductive, yet so expensive.
