more who news...

David Tennant selected to play 10th Who (if his agent can work it out).

According to this article, he's going to shoot a regeneration scene for the 13th episode of the season, and he (not Eccleston) will do the Holiday Special, if I read it correctly. Tennant had voiced characters for Who web series before.

Christ, BBC knows how to clusterf*ck popular series, don't they? That's like not contracting Jeff to do another season of Coupling. Oh wait, they did that, too. At least Oliver ran a comic shop with some Dalek toys parroting "Ex-ter-mi-nate!" but Jeff remains my favorite.

Anywho --- back to Who. Apparently Eccleston had a gentleman's agreement to stay.

Daleks will renegotiate contract for Season 2

Who the hell does [Eccleston] think he is?

Oh man... I almost WISH they'd do a "Bobby in the shower" thing with him now. What a f-ing shame.

At least now all the new fans to the show will be able to see what the whole regeneration thing is about.

Hey matt, Drop me a line, we need to get together when I come through Columbus in May.

And yes, i knew you wrote Dr. Who fan fiction.

Geoff

You would want to see a shower regeneration scene wouldn't you Mr. P.?

And then we'd have the whole problem of Snots Landing continuity crashing with Dallas continuity and then we'd have to have a Crisis of Infinite Ewings to sort it all out.

Hmmm... now another "5 Doctors"-ish story with the living Doctors would be cool.

Crisis of Infinite Ewings. HA! Remember what I said last night about Donna Mills making a great Rani... the jaded/jilted lover of the Doctor turned evil?

Let's see... there are 6/9 on-screen Doc's left alive. Tom Baker, Peter Davisson, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston and now 7/10 if you count the new guy. I could see everyone coming back except Colin B. and Paul McG. and of course Christopher "typecast" Eccleston.

In 3 years, it'll be the 45th anniversary of the show. Of course, Tom B. is getting really old, so they might not want to wait that long.

Ok, I've digressed aplenty. That said, I do miss Peter Davisson. Something about him was so clean cut and geek-hot (at least to me). Of course, now he's middle-aged and put on quite a bit of weight... but hey, Time Lords age, too.

Does that make Peter Davidson a "Time Daddy" now?
