tiger stew.

so, of course, i get home to a shipper-tag on my door, saying signature is required, and they cant accept my signature to leave it at the door. they were here at 1:00.

well, see, there's a problem. we work. if we dont know when to be here, nobody can be here to get it. so now, my "delivery by 4/29" becomes a "pick up on the other side of town by 5/2" -- I'm tempted to refuse delivery and tell Apple to give me my damn money back, so I can walk into the Apple Store and get one immediately.

Most companies tell you how they're going to ship, and if a signature is going to be required. Not Apple. "Delivery by 4/29" was the only shipping indicator.

Jerks. Now I have to find other ways to procrastinate.

Same thing happened to me last year.

I ended up buying a copy of Panther that night at Easton and used the other copy for another machine when it finally arrived the next Monday.

I hate couriers.

Of course, when I called the courier, they said they would have someone call me to let me know when I could pick it up. This morning, (just now) I still hadn't gotten a call, and called them again. They didnt want to listen to my complaint, and rather than let me vent, transferred me directly to the Columbus center off 71, where the chick told me I was going to have to waste an hour of my day picking up this shipment that they couldnt get to me any other way.

Granted, it isnt their fault that Apple went with them. It isnt their fault that Apple was requiring that someone actually be HANDED the package. Oh, but you know, during Christmas, the same rules don't apply to this courier, either. They'll just leave it anywhere.

WTF.
