So tired of the waiting.

I talked to my mom Friday night, and they'll be moving into their new 2-bedroom house near Daytona Beach this coming week. Paying cash ($19k) and buying a vacant home lets you do that, I guess. Manufactured homes run cheap, and it's in a gated retirement community. The only things that need done are redecorating, and the new carpets are coming the day after they close. Mom is redoing the vinyl flooring in the kitchen, and she says wallpaper too. She also said she didn't like the Harvest Gold cooktop. Furnishings are coming from the estate sales in the area, which seem to let everything go for mere pennies on the dollar. Looks like they could be back just as we are finishing the move.

And, my friend Ron is buying on Wheeling Island, back home. Again, something excessively cheap, via land contract, and only paying a total of $15k. With $20k worth of work. I told him to expect $40k... just from experience pricing roofs and concrete work.

However, 2 days of my weekend were spent looking at furniture and a fridge for the new house. We've got a good budget, I think. Now we just need to prioritize.

Yep. Prioritize. I think we've gotten way ahead of ourselves when it comes to furnishings. Get the necessities. Then move. Then get the rest as we have time and money.

Need to check the budget again.

Yes, we're doing lots of reprioritizing and "budget checking" too. :) Hehe! We'll be officially moved in on Sunday...
